XXXI AIDI Summer School "Francesco Turco"
8-11 SEPTEMBER 2026
Lecco, Italy
Welcome Note
Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is our great pleasure to invite you to the XXXI AIDI “Francesco Turco” Summer School, which will be held in Lecco on September 2026, 8th-11th, organized by Politecnico di Milano jointly with AIDI and hosted at the POLIMI Lecco Campus.
The XXXI AIDI “Francesco Turco” Summer School aims to foster collaboration and knowledge exchange among researchers and professionals from diverse academic and industrial contexts, while strengthening the sense of belonging to our scientific community of Industrial Systems Engineering.
This year’s theme, “Innovating Methods and Connecting Expertise to address Science and Industry Challenges”, reflects a dual commitment. On the one hand, “Innovating Methods” calls for advancing research and teaching approaches in industrial systems engineering, with a focus on new methodologies and tools. The XXXI AIDI “Francesco Turco” Summer School will provide a platform to discuss how innovative methods can shape the future of teaching, learning, and applied research in the field. On the other hand, “Connecting Expertise” involves creating bridges between academia and industry through a rich program that includes company visits, industry speeches, and interactive roundtables. These activities will be complemented by keynote lectures from senior Professors from our community, offering participants a comprehensive view of current challenges and opportunities across academia and industry.
These two themes naturally intertwine: innovating methods means understanding and leading our time through advanced tools, while connecting expertise means building long-lasting and meaningful relationships within our community. By holding these two dimensions together – the mastery of methods and the strength of relationships – we can continue to grow and stay relevant.
We look forward to welcoming you very soon to the XXXI AIDI “Francesco Turco” Summer School!
